Dictionary Add-On published in an effort to address critical gaps in modern language

Last week, the Official Oxford Dictionary Add-On was published and unveiled in the Trafalgar Square Waterstones branch. The Add-On, set to have new editions once a year, comes following what officials describe as “a growing national inability to accurately describe modern experiences.” The book introduces a number of new terms, some of which can be found below.

The Add-On will be distributed to selected libraries, government offices and will be available to buy nationwide at Foyles & Waterstones for £13.95.

Snackrifice
(n.)

The act of giving someone the last piece of food (after offering) while secretly resenting them for it.

Queueuphoria
(n.)

The brief sense of superiority felt when choosing the faster queue.

Planxiety
(n.)

The simultaneous fear of having plans and having no plans.
